Damian Hale

I am a visual artist and creative director with over 20 years experience in video design, specialising in live music and immersive experiences. I began print making in 2016. I am inspired by pop culture and social politics and fascinated by the lines that separate supposedly high and lowbrow culture, darkness and humour etc, which I like to deliberately blur, looking for an unfiltered emotional response in the viewer. I love to capture fleeting, throw-away moments to use as ingredients in my work. Alongside snatched moments from my animated work, discarded notes and doodles, photographs of shadows, spillages, dropped and broken objects, even background details from the tv screen find their way into my compositions.
